Dr Atholl Campbell – Principal
I have come from New Zealand to join EtonHouse at the beginning of the 2009/2010 school year. I have a background as a primary school teacher, principal and as an adviser to schools. In recent times I have worked with schools and the Ministry of Education in New Zealand to develop inquiry learning programmes. I bring a wealth of experience in school administration and the development of effective teaching and learning programmes in classrooms. I am looking forward to the challenge of building on past work with the pre-school programmes, along with establishing the school’s new primary area. I can see a bright future for EtonHouse.

Greta von Schreibern – Foundation 2 ‘Butterflies’ Core Teacher
My name is Greta von Schreibern and I come from a small, seaside town in New Zealand called Kaikoura. I love to travel and have been to many different countries and am now looking forward to settling into China. My biggest challenge will be learning the language but I’m sure in time I will learn it. I have been teaching for nearly ten years and have qualifications in both primary and early childhood education. I love art and craft and also play the guitar and piano. I love the enthusiasm, spontaneity and creativity that young children have and am looking forward to getting to know the children and families here at this school.
Debbie – Foundation 1 ‘Bumblebees’ Core teacher
Hi, my name is Debbie and I am a qualified teacher from the Philippines. I graduated in Elementary Education and also have a Master’s Degree in Public Administration, a Major in Government Administration and an International TESOL Certificate. As an educator and life long learner, I have dealt with diverse students, met different people and gained valuable experiences. Indeed, the challenges and trials that I have encountered served as my guide and strength to keep me abreast with the demands of the academic field. I am excited to be a part of the EtonHouse family and consider teaching child as a real opportunity to make a difference.
Leanne Clemant – Nursery 1 ‘Dolphins’ Core Teacher
Hello my name is Leanne Clement and I come from a small town called Gore in the South Island of New Zealand. I have twelve years experience working with children from birth to age twelve. I began working as a nanny in many different countries like Sweden, Canada, England and Australia. During 2005 I completed my degree with a Bachelor of Teaching and Learning – Early Childhood after which I worked in many childcare centers, eventually taking on more responsibility and managing them. I am looking forward to my time at EtonHouse learning about the different cultures and sharing my own. I believe that children direct their own learning through play and can teach us as adults so much as well. Our job as teachers is to encourage each child to reach their full potential so they can go out into the world as confident, competent people on life’s journey.
Miss Samantha Zavettori – Nursery 2 ‘Sealions’Core Teacher
I have been living and teaching in China for three and a half years after living in the United State for one year working as an Au Pair. I have experience working in a Brazilian public school and spent two years in intensive childcare. I consider nursery education to be one of my passions and have been with EtonHouse since May 2007 where I began teaching in Foundation 1, moved on to Foundation 2 and now teach in Nursery. I consider myself to be enthusiastic, dedicated and very creative, always bringing new ideas not only to my own class but other areas of the school as well.
Angel Harper – Nursery 3 ‘Starfish’ Core Teacher
I am from Malaysia/Australia and have experience in an American International School and Private Tutoring. My experience has ranged from one on one personal tutoring to group and classroom settings, curriculum and activity planning, as well as public relations and social interactions with people from many cultures. My qualifications include a Diploma in Early Childhood Education, a Diploma in Childcare, a Diploma in Primary Education and a TEFL Certificate. As a mother of two, I fully support, recommend and have experience in the teaching of children from an early age whether in the form of academic studies, moral or physical development. I believe that children are the hope of the future and I am eager to take on the daily challenges and rewards of working as an educator.
Hina Patel – Reception ‘Sharks’ Core Teacher
I am from England, UK. I graduated with an Early Childhood Studies Degree and a post graduated certificate in Early Years. I have taught children between the ages of 2-11 in British schools and also taught children with varying Special Educational Needs. During this time I also voluntarily taught in an orphanage in Bolivia. Before coming to China, I was leading the Early Years Foundation stages in a previous post and am currently working towards my Masters in Early Childhood and Practice. I believe one of the most precious things we give children is time; time to listen and time to learn. I hope to create a learning environment which fosters excitement and discovery in learning, whilst giving support to all children to enable them to reach their full potential.
Jannine Strachan – Reception ‘Stingrays’ Class Teacher
Hi my name is Jannine Strachan and I am from Durban on the East coast of South Africa. I find it very rewarding working with and teaching children of all ages and I have five years teaching experience. Within my first year of teaching I traveled to America where I worked in a Summer Camp catering specifically for special needs adults and children. The remainder of the year I taught 7 to 9 year-old children. For the past four years I have been teaching 6 to 8 year-old children. As the school at which I taught is multicultural, the children in the classes were from very diverse backgrounds and cultures. I thoroughly enjoy interacting with children as they are always open and willing to learn new things. I look forward to my new life in China and all that it has to offer.
Debbie Henley – Year 1 ‘Peacocks’ Core Teacher
I came to EtonHouse from North Carolina, America during August of 2005. After spending 17 years teaching in the Philippines, where my husband and I started the Smart Child Academy, I came to China teaching for one year at Straits Newman School. After graduating from BBC college in Missouri in Education, I continued my studies in ‘individual learning’ with the ACE curriculum in Texas. In 2004 I graduated from the London Institute of TESL training and have been happily married for 34 years, with two adult children and four grand children.
Brett Walker – Year 1 ‘Kingfishers’ Class Teacher
My name is Brett Walker and I am so excited to have joined the team at Eton House. I come from a small city on the east coast of South Africa, called Durban. Durban is much like Dongguan, small, busy and very hot! I am a sports enthusiast and love being outdoors. I have been teaching and coaching sport in a primary school in Durban for the past 6 years. I have a strong passion for working with children and am truly honoured for this opportunity to teach and interact with children from various countries.
Mal Hutchinson- Year 2 ‘Eagles’ Core Teacher
Hello, my name is Mal Hutchinson and I come from Australia. I obtained my Bachelor of Education in 2005. After I finished university I taught in both remote and urban schools. Some of my remote postings were in the Australian outback where I taught Indigenous Australian children. After I left Australia, I taught in London for a year. I’m really excited about moving to China and look forward to working with the Eagles class.

Nick Jacobs – Year 3 & Year 4 ‘Falcons’ Core Teacher
I came to China from London, England where I obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Primary Education. While in London I taught for two years in a mainstream Primary School, at a Year Four Level. I have also gained experience working with children with special needs and coaching soccer to children of various ages. I have been with EtonHouse for one year and have thoroughly enjoyed watching the Primary grow into a rich learning environment. Now I am fully settled into the Chinese life, I am excited about continuing to bring my creative approach to teaching and promoting a love for learning in all my children.
Kerryn Walker – Year 5 & Year 6 ‘Hummingbirds’ Class Teacher

Janice Amindalan – Physical Education Specialist
I have four years teaching experience in my home country, Philippines, and six years teaching in an international school in Guangzhou. Despite being surrounded by active and vocal children all day long, I try to remain gentle, cheerful and fun-loving in my approach. I believe myself to be a mature individual whose soft-spoken ways and refined manners reflect good upbringing. Being a teacher, I relate well to my peers, am helpful and a good team player. Trish Campbell – Teacher Support
I come from a small town called Ashburton in the South Island of New Zealand. I trained at Dunedin Teacher’s College and have been involved in Education for nearly thirty years. I have taught children from 5-11 years during this time, in a variety of schools. During the last 10 years in Ashburton, I taught at Longbeach Primary School where I was also Deputy Principal teaching 5-6 year olds. During the time at EtonHouse and in China, I have looked forward to the challenge of working with children of different nationalities and experience different cultures.

I’m from Dongguan. I graduated from Dongguan University of Technology this year. My dream is to become a teacher. During my university life, I did home-tutoring, and also acted as a Mandarin teacher in Dongcheng Primary school for a few months, during which I learnt many things such as how to get along with children, how to help them grow and how to teach them with patience. Lina Zhang – Mandarin Teacher
I am from Shanxi province and has graduated from the Radio Broadcasting and Television collage of Shanxi. I have been working in childhood education for almost nine years and have been at Eton House since September 2007. I have had experience of being a mandarin teacher but am now the cooperating teach of the first foundation class. I like to listen and play music, especially on the piano, and love to dance. I am really happy in my role at the school as I am able to bring my warmth and caring nature to all the children that I work with.

My name is Chris and I come from Hunan Province. I graduated from Hunan Heng Yang Normal University with a major in Early Childhood Education. I have been in the field of early childhood education for six years, where I have three years’ experience in EtonHouse. I work as a Mandarin teacher in the school. Sabrina Wan – Parent Liaison
I am from Jiangxi Province and majored in Maternal and Child Hygiene before training in Singapore for another three years to further my studies. While in Singapore I also obtained an ACCE diploma and have also passed the A Course in Kindergarten Director Qualification. I have over ten years experience working in schools of Dongguan and have been a part of EtonHouse in Dongguan since its opening. I now hold the position of Office Manager and consider myself to be a devoted and committed member of the front end team.

Gina Li – Administration Officer
I am a graduate with an English major: Bachelor of Arts degree with a specialism in English translation. I hold the distinction of English Major Level-8 certificate (TEM-8). I was among the top five percentile of my graduating school and have obtained various academic and social awards. I enjoy bringing my cheerful atmosphere into the office and school. I consider myself to be devoted, efficient and passionate and am now an Administration Officer and Language Consultant, in charge of the office management, as well as acting as a liaison between the school and foreign parents. I endeavor to offer the highest quality service to all the members of EtonHouse while working toward a common goal.
Melody – Parent Liaison
I am from Dongguan City and I graduated from Jiangmen Education College with a major in English education. I have a teaching certificate in English and have taught at a kinder garden for a year and a half before I joined EtonHouse. I really enjoy working children, and here at EtonHouse I am so happy to be able to greet and welcome every child in the morning at the door. I’ve got to know each child’s name and get along with them very well, which is due to my experience as an English teacher. Patient and passionate, I hope to provide a good service to all the parents and children at EtonHouse and grow with our school.
Vicky Qian – Accountant
Miss Vicky Qian is from Dongguan City. She has eight years of experience as an accountant. She specialized in the Financial Management of Corporate and Administrative units. She consistently keeps accurate and precise accounts of our school and has worked with us since the day EtonHouse, Dongguan opened.
