Our Early Years Programme
Our Early Years Programme is vitally important for the mental, physical and social development of every child, and we foster this through an enriched and carefully resourced environment that stimulates the learning and development of children from two to five years of age.
Children’s learning occurs and is enhanced through their interactions with people, time, space and resources, and how they learn best is through play, which is children’s ‘work’. Play is a natural, self-motivated and highly complex activity that children enjoy, and when they are having fun doing and experiencing, these learning experiences become more meaningful to them and their peers.
At our school, each child benefits from a learning environment that promotes the continuous development of social, cognitive, emotional, physical and creative strengths. Children are offered a range of opportunities to explore values, broaden communication skills, collaborate, make personal choices, group problem solve, develop ideas and explore information.
When delivering the Early Years Programme, we ensure there is a strong focus on:
- Each child’s individual development – motor skills, language skills, thinking skills, social and emotional development and intellectual development.
- Each child’s growth as a skilful communicator.
- Each child’s successes as a competent learner.
- Teaching practices that support these focus areas.
Each child’s framework for learning us based on the six learning areas of the United Kingdom curriculum’s Early Learning Goals. The learning areas are:
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Creative Development
- Communication, Language and Literacy
- Problem-solving, Reasoning and Numeracy
- Physical Development
- Knowledge and Understanding of the World

Our Primary Years Programme

- Seize the opportunities offered by new knowledge and technology to secure a successful and sustainable future for himself or herself.
- Continue to develop the values, knowledge and competencies that will enable him or her to live full and satisfying lives.
- Be confident, connected, actively involved and lifelong learners.
